North Coast Taxidermy is owned and operated by Jan & Dorothy, and is located in the beautiful Northern Community of Kitimat, British Columbia. "Where the fishing is great, and the hunting even better!"

With over 25 years of Tanning and Taxidermy experience, and specializing in Jan Sorgedetailed custom-made action mounts, Jan has built his reputation with quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and artistry.

At present, he is the sole provider of Taxidermy services to Kitimat, Prince Rupert, Terrace, and outlying Northern Communities.

Although his cliental is large, his turnaround time on most mounts is within six months.

He is able to accomplish this because of his ability to professionally tan a customer’s mount himself rather than ship it out to a tannery.

Kitimat is renowned for it's fishing, and brings in people from all over the world. Most find their way to the Wildlife Museum which is listed as one of Kitimat's sight seeing attractions.

All that come to view, are overwhelmed by the lifelike display they encounter.

To be able to see these wonderful life size animals up close, is an experience to remember.

Field Care Tips
The Care you take with your animal in the field will determing the way it will look when mounted.
When hides are not cared for properly, damage such as hair slippage from bacteria will occur.
It's best if you can if you can get your animal into a freezer within 24 hours. If not then proper skinning and salting needs to be done.
Never leave your animal in the warm sun. Always find a cool shady spot.
